A Smarter Approach to Opioid Stewardship
OptiOpioid is a digital clinical decision support tool for preoperative assessment. It identifies opioid medications in a patient's medication list, calculates the total oral morphine equivalent (OME) dose, and flags patients for review by the appropriate local service.
Request Evaluation AccessCalculate OME Doses
Calculates the total oral morphine equivalent (OME) dose from a patient's medication list, including modified-release and transdermal preparations.
Stratify Patient Risk
Utilises a clear traffic-light system to stratify patients, immediately highlighting those at higher risk of harm.
Aligned to National Standards
Applies published Faculty of Pain Medicine conversion factors and thresholds. The tool surfaces information; clinicians retain all clinical decision-making.
Why Preoperative Identification Matters
Patients taking regular opioids before surgery have higher pain scores, longer length of stay and higher rates of persistent postsurgical pain. National guidance recommends identification of opioid exposure before surgery. OptiOpioid is designed to make that identification consistent.
Demo Access
A prototype of the tool is available for evaluation by invitation only at this stage. Please contact us to express your interest in evaluating OptiOpioid.
